S.H.O.R.E. Program

The Senior High Outdoor Resources Education program is offered to high school students within the district at no cost to the schools.

The goal of the program is to educate students about natural resources conservation and water quality using a hands-on and interactive approach. This program allows students the opportunity to learn about the importance of natural resource conservation, as well as explore potential career paths.

Senior Outdoor Resource Education

Phase 1

In-class presentation and guest speakers arranged by the SRWD.

Phase 2

Field Work! Students apply skills learned in the classroom in hands-on outdoor environment.

Phase 3

Presentation in-class! Students must present to the class what they learned in the field.

The Sauk River Watershed District's SHORE Program was awarded the 2009 Program of the Year Award by the Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts.
