Description

The land drained by SCD # 17 lies SW of Waite Park and includes 3,848 acres in St. Joseph, Waite Park, and Rockville Townships.

History

  • SCD#17 was established in May of 1905.
  • Redetermination of Benefits completed in 1987.
  • Improvement attempted in 1987, but it was not approved.
  • Ditch was transferred to the SRDA in 2003.
  • Full inspection completed in 2019.  Ditch found to be overgrown and out of repair.
  • Landowner meeting held in October 2019 to present the inspection report and discuss the next steps to include a Redetermination of Benefits and develop an Engineer’s Report for a repair.
  • Redetermination of Benefits started in 2020.  Properties were added including land around Pleasant Lake and lands south of Pleasant Lake.  Further reexamination of additional lands is underway.
  • Current Benefits (1989 amended viewer’s report) – $187,333.00
  • Proposed Benefits – $2,857,010.84 (Exhibit A, Amendment 1, 2020 Viewer’s Report).
