Design and build the most effective water filter using any combination of the materials provided to filter out a solution composed of one small cup of soil combined in one large cup of tap water in two minutes.

The Materials

Each team is provided a funnel and clear plastic glass. Other materials each team may utilize including the following:

  1. Small wood chips (1 cup)
  2. Gravel (1 cup)
  3. Shredded Paper (1 cup)
  4. Cotton Balls (1 cup)
  5. Sand (1 cup)
  6. 1 Piece of Paper
  7. 5 Napkins
