Using the pliers, open the bigger split ring and thread the split ring through the hook eyelet until it moves freely. (Like putting a key on a keyring).

Using the pliers, open the split ring again and thread the split ring (with hook) on to the end hole of the hinge until it moves freely again.

Step 3

Paint the lure any combination of colors you want. Be careful until it dries, the paint is oil based and will stain your fingers and clothes. Use an envelope to transport your lure home if it is not completely dry. Let it dry overnight before using.

Using the pliers, open the split ring again and thread the split ring (with hook) on to the belly loop of the lure. Repeat using the second hook for the tail loop of the lure.
